This is not pretty. It's hard to watch. But this is the injury that Schumacher and Bianchi (along with diffuse axonal trauma) both suffered in their respective accidents.
I know Schumacher's accident happened off the race course, but it's always important for us, as motorsport fans, to keep in mind the risks that these athletes take on every time they buckle in.
Hopefully the mistakes made by F1 that led to Bianchi's tragic accident are learned from, and never made again.
